Director of Youth Ministry
Piney Grove Methodist Church (Siler City, NC) seeks a part-time Director of Youth Ministry (15-20 hours per week). We hope to find an individual on fire for God, with a passion for children and teenagers on their journey and helping them grow as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. The position includes the development and oversight of activities, recreation, mission trips, and Bible studies under the supervision of the head Pastor. The youth program covers grades 6 to 12. Piney Grove Methodist Church has been a presence for Christ in the Siler City area for more than 170 years and is now affiliated with the Global Methodist Church. At Piney Grove, we seek to follow the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit as we work to grow disciples through Spirit-filled, Christ-centered ministry.
Responsibilities
-Establish biblically based, Christ-centered ministry for all youth 6th-12th grade.
-Plan and carry out weekly youth meetings that incorporate discipleship and fun.
-Recruitment, training, and equipping servant leaders to help with the ministry.
-Plan and carry out mission trips and retreats.
-Develop relationships with Youth organizations in the community.
-Grow PGMC’s Youth Ministry program within and outside of the church.
-Any other activities or duties necessary to create a thriving youth ministry.
-Plan with the youth a youth Sunday service.
Expectations
-Weekly engagement with parents.
-Participate in weekly worship.
-Share stories of what God is doing in the ministry, often with the congregation.
-Love the youth and foster a love of God in them.
-Work with other ministry teams throughout the church.
-Be present in the community, schools, and events of the youth.
-Provide appropriate monthly information regarding events and happenings in the youth group for the Piney Grove Post.
-Attend all meetings relevant to the ministry position (PPRC, Council, etc.)
-Keep up to date with informational data for all in the program (allergies, contact information).
-Regular social media updates.
Qualifications
-A love for Jesus and all God’s children and a commitment to grow in grace and knowledge.
-Successful completion of a state and federal background check.
-Demonstrate ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage, and implement a youth ministry program.
-Understanding of Global Methodist polity, worship, and theology, or the willingness to learn.
-Proven ability to work effectively with youth, parents, staff, and teams of volunteers.

Part-Time Choir Director
Piney Grove Methodist Church (Siler City, NC) seeks a part-time Choir Director (15 hours per week). We hope to find an individual on fire for God who is energetic, detail-oriented, and capable of overseeing the church choir and other related music ministries of the church under the supervision of the Pastor. Piney Grove Methodist Church has been a presence for Christ in the Siler City area for more than 170 years and is now affiliated with the Global Methodist Church. At Piney Grove, we seek to follow the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit as we work to grow disciples through Spirit-filled, Christ-centered ministry.
Responsibilities
-Direct choir rehearsals and music in worship services, including preludes, offertories, anthems, communion music, and postludes.
-Conduct weekly evening rehearsals for the adult choir.
-Lead all rehearsals and performances throughout the year, including specials and seasonal events.
-Recruit members for the choir.
-Maintain the music library and the music budget ensuring that selections available are both traditional and timely.
-Oversee the care of and maintenance of worship service instruments.
-Plan worship service music and participate in worship planning team meetings.
-Work closely with children’s ministry and youth ministry directors to include those groups in Sunday worship and specials when possible.
-Attend all relevant staff meetings (PPRC, Council, etc.)
-If unavailable for regular services, help provide a qualified substitute.
-Presence at all Sunday worship services and specials is required (paid time off is provided).
Expectations
-Love for and knowledge of traditional and contemporary music and its role in worship.
-Be of good moral character and willing to work with the entire church organization.
-Be able to perform at a high musical level.
-Experience with church worship music leadership.
Qualifications

-Piano proficiency is encouraged, but not required.
-Understanding of Global Methodist polity, worship, and theology, or willingness to learn.
-Proven ability to work effectively with staff and teams of volunteers.
